The Specialist in Vineyard and Battlefield Tours |
Professor Hedley Malloch, Ph.D. – The Battlefield Specialist
Hedley lives in Lille and teaches at the Catholic University of Lille. He is a member of the Western Front Association and has been escorting groups around the Western Front for seven years. He has written for the Western Front magazines on the life and times of the German Ernst Jünger on the Western Front. Jünger’s book ‘Storm of Steel’ is today the most widely-read account of trench life.
Recently he has completed a major study of the fate of British soldiers trapped behind the lines in the retreat to the Marne in 1914. Hedley was part of the successful campaign to secure pardons for those British soldiers who were executed by the British army for desertion and related offences.
Guy Boursot - The Wine Specialist
Guy Boursot is a well-respected expert in the world of wine. His family has been making wine in the village of Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits of Burgundy since the 17th century.
Guy writes wine articles in magazines and UK websites and is a member of the Worshipful Company of Distillers as well as the Worshipful Company of Vintners, and in 1995 Guy was appointed Chairman of the Champagne Academy, the organisation that represents the generic interests of the Grande Marque Champagne Houses in the UK.
To quote one agency: "To hear Guy talk on Champagne or Burgundy particularly is to truly appreciate the knowledge and pleasure derived from centuries of wine-making."
Over the last 30 years, Guy has worked in the wine business both in the UK and in France and has given well in excess of 1,000 talks, and has appeared on both radio and television and he is fortunate enough to attract a good number of demands for repeat talks. His style is informal, entertaining but informative.
